If you’ve been keeping up with the popular cafes and brunche spots, you’ve probably heard of Joji’s Diner. Located off Serangoon road, this retro-themed American diner gained a loyal following for their hearty brunch fare and instagrammable aesthetics. Well, now they’re back with a second, two-storey outlet at Telok Ayer! With their new outlet, they’ve also got some new menu items, plus a full bar and cocktail menu, so if you’re in the mood for some old-school vibes while sipping on a drink, you’re going to want to check them out!
Duck On Mash –
During our visit, one of the new menu items that caught our eye was the Duck On Mash ($19.90), which includes duck leg confit, orange marmalade sauce, mashed potatoes, and portobello mushrooms! While duck isn’t the most common of menu items you’ll find, this is certainly worth a try. The duck leg is fragrant and tender, and pairs well with the orange marmalade sauce. Put together with the creamy mashed potatoes and portobello mushroom, this made for a satisfyingly hearty dinner.
Farmer’s Plate –
If you’re a fan of Joji’s Diner, you’ll remember this dish from their first outlet. While it has the same name, the Farmer’s Plate ($23.90) at the new Telok Ayer outlet features more dishes, with a bratwurst, smoked salmon, hash, scrambled eggs, slices of sourdough, portobello mushrooms, and finally finishing up with some fresh greens and beef chili. If you’re on the hunt for a big, filling meal, this will certainly deliver. All the individual ingredients are well prepared, and the heaping servings of hash and smoked salmon certainly makes up for the price.
Cajun Squid Fritters –
Alongside their new cocktail menu, they’ve also got some new bar bites! We got their new Cajun Squid Fritters ($11.90) to go with some drinks, and they did not disappoint! Fried, battered, and served with lightly spicy mayo dip, it’s everything you want while sipping on a few cocktails on a nice relaxing weekend out.
Overall, this new joint is definitely worth a visit. If you’re in the area or simply enjoy huge portions of breakfast food (and honestly, who doesn’t), then be sure to swing by and check it out for yourself!
